Many people ask about the meaning behind Afton Blu Salon. It’s more than just a name—it’s a tribute filled with love and purpose. Afton was my nephew, a bright and adventurous soul whose favorite color was blue. To honor his memory, we named our salon after him, carrying his spirit forward in everything we do.
On June 30, 2019, the Taylor family set out for a beautiful day on the lake—music playing, laughter filling the air. As they prepared to head home, seven-year-old Afton exchanged a thumbs-up with his dad, a moment of pure joy that would soon turn tragic. In an instant, their world changed. The family was unaware that carbon monoxide poisoning can strike even in open-air boating. That silent, invisible danger took Afton’s life far too soon.
At Afton Blu Salon, his memory lives on—not just in the name, but in the warmth, care, and community we create. We invite you to take a moment to learn more about Afton’s story and how his family is working to spread awareness about carbon monoxide safety.
